Jackman Angel Tree Holiday Drive: Huge Success

In 2024, our annual holiday drive became an Angel Tree. We filled more than 75 percent of two charity wish lists and collected over 400 lb of winter clothing and household goods for neighbours in need.

In 2024, after several successful Jackman Holiday Drives, we turned our annual drive into an Angel Tree. Tags listed items for people in need, and our goal was to help as many children, families, and seniors as we could.

We chose two organizations close to our hearts: St. Matthew's House and Family & Children's Services Foundation.

St. Matthew's House and Family & Children's Services

We had been working closely with St. Matthew's House while building their community housing project at 412 Barton St. in Hamilton. Together with our project partners at Assembly Corp, we gathered donations to help fill wish lists for seniors who benefit from St. Matthew's programming.

We also collected for Family & Children's Services Foundation, known for services, programming, and philanthropy that address systemic inequities affecting family welfare. We aimed to tick off more than toys on their wish lists too.

What we collected

We filled more than 75 percent of the wish-list items for both charities, and we are proud of what the team and our community made possible.

We also collected over 400 lb of gently used, freshly washed winter items, including coats, hats, boots, gloves, scarves, and sweaters, plus toys and household goods for local charity MC Thrift.

These donations made a real difference for neighbours in our community.
