In 2023, One Young Street was named the People's Choice Award winner at Kitchener's Great Places Awards — a proud milestone for Jackman's first mass timber building in Waterloo Region
In 2023, we were beyond honoured to learn that One Young Street had been named the People's Choice Award winner at Kitchener's Great Places Awards.
After a month of collecting votes at Kitchener City Hall, during community engagement at the Kitchener Market, and on the City's Engage Kitchener platform, the results were in — and thanks to the community's votes, One Young Street came out on top.
About the Award
Kitchener's Great Places Awards celebrate buildings and spaces that make a real impact on the community — and the People's Choice category puts that decision directly in the public's hands. Being nominated was already an honour; being named the winner, voted for by our own community, meant even more.
Why One Young Street
One Young Street holds a special place in our portfolio as the first new mass timber building in Waterloo Region — a five-storey commercial building built using glulam (glue-laminated timber) construction.
